First developed out of a shared appreciation for classically modern furniture design, Gus* Modern was founded by a group of friends on a mission to breathe new life into a beloved tradition. As a result, they encourage the kind of creative approaches, and unique touches that let their pieces shine, while still paying homage to Mid-Century modern style. With equal attention paid to functionality, originality, simplicity, and craftsmanship, this company achieves their vision of creating thoughtful products that enhance the spaces we call home. They’re also regularly dreaming up new ideas and collection additions with an emphasis on contemporary details, finishes, and artistically-sculpted lines. By stretching their creative possibilities through bold collaborations with brands like Pendleton Woolen Mills, and Luum Textiles, Gus* Modern brings an exciting, and forward-thinking devotion to this work they love so much.

They also incorporate a truly versatile and super soft long-strand fiber material made from recycled plastics as an eco-friendly alternative for cushion fill, select woven fabrics, and coverings. The process for creating this PET material not only diverts large amounts of plastic waste from landfills, but also provides premium quality comfort and longevity for their furniture cushions and upholstery. With Zero-VOC finishes that reduce the amount of harmful chemicals present, to a gorgeous vegan and OEKO-TEX® Certified “leather” made from upcycled apple fiber, Gus* Modern is paving the way for a healthier, more environmentally responsible way to manufacture home furnishings.
